Three best young scientists was awarded at EuroNanoForum 2009

To support the young scientists, the organizers of the EuroNanoForum 2009 together with the European Commissiona and Ministry of Education,Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic announced The Best Students Poster Award for three talented students giving the best poster presentations. The strong participation with 90 posters of young researchers and students that presented their research results was appreciated by the EC representatives as well as senior scientists, who believe that also this is the signal that nanotechnologies have a bright future. “Nanotechnologies require highly competent people to manage its future developments and markets. Encouragement in attracting talented people is needed, “ said  Herbert von Bose, the Director of  Industrial Technologies Departement, European Commission.

Members of the ENF2009 Scientific Committee had not easy task to choose the three best students, who were awarded by Mrs. Alena Blažková of Department of International Cooperation in Research and Development of Ministry of Education,Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic: Danny Bavli from the Faculty of Medicine Hebrew University, Biochemisty in Jerusalem (Israel) for the poster "Enhanced Nanoparticle-based Monitoring of Bacteria in Water", Pavel Řezanka from the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague, Analytical Chemistry (Czech Republic) for the poster "Modification strategy for gold and silver nanoparticles with C-Glycosylated porphyrin derivates" and Heidi Thomas from the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry in Marburg (Germany) for the poster "Metal Contacts on Organic Monolayers formed by Electroless Metal Deposition".
